Smaller size Kensui than Matcha Tea Ceremony, this is designed for Sencha Tea ceremony (Usually smaller comparatively) Red clay which is smoked to black, Edge of surface was ground so that the red clay is appeared. Contrast of the color is beautiful. Black color made by smoke (reduction fired) over red clay is soft, deep, (feel layers) . Small and elegant, shape is sophisticated good to put on tea table while you brew and enjoy tea. Artist Reiko produces tea ware for Senchado (Sencha tea ceremony), which should be simple but elegant and tasteful.
